DanceCompas

Frequently asked questions

Everything about finding dance events, adding yours, and planning your dance year.

What is DanceCompas?

DanceCompas is a worldwide directory and planner for social dance events — festivals, congresses, weekend socials, weekly parties, classes and schools — covering bachata, salsa, kizomba, zouk, tango, heels, west coast swing, forró and more. You can browse on a map or calendar, filter by city and style, and build a multi-city dance year with the circuit planner.

How do I find dance events near me?

Open the map and filter by your country, city and style, or use the calendar to browse by date. Every city has its own page listing upcoming socials, classes and festivals.

Which dance styles are covered?

Bachata, salsa, kizomba, zouk, mambo, cha-cha, merengue, semba, urban kiz, tango, heels, west coast swing, swing (Lindy Hop), forró, afrobeats, dancehall and ballroom — across 40+ countries.

Is DanceCompas free to use?

Yes — discovering events, browsing the map and calendar, and planning a circuit are free forever. Organizers can also claim their page and list events for free.

How do I add my event or class?

Use the Submit an event form (there's a separate option for weekly classes). Submissions go to a moderation queue and appear once approved.

I run a school or festival — how do I claim my page?

Find your organizer or school page and click “Claim this page”. We verify ownership (by matching email domain, or manual review). Once verified you can edit details, upload your own cover photo, add events, enable online class booking, and see who's coming.

What is the circuit planner?

Our signature feature: add events to a circuit and see your dance year drawn as a world-tour route, with cost estimates and date-conflict warnings — then share it.

How do I find a practice partner?

Create a partner profile, then search Find a partner to match with dancers near you by style, city and availability.

How often is the event list updated?

A crawler refreshes the catalogue every day from public listings and organizers' own sites, and organizers update their pages directly — so dates and new events stay current.

Can I book and pay for classes through DanceCompas?

Class booking is rolling out: where an instructor has enabled it, you can reserve a spot in a class from its page. More options are coming as the platform grows.
